Vance Killen Interior Design ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit vancekillen.com, how it is used, and the choices you have.

This site is a portfolio. It has no contact form, no account login, no online booking, and no payment processing. Because of that, the information collected here is limited.

Information collected automatically

Our website is built and hosted on the Squarespace platform. When you visit, Squarespace automatically records standard technical information on our behalf, including:

  • Your IP address

  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system

  • The pages you view and how long you spend on them

  • The website or search engine that referred you, if any

  • The date and time of your visit

We use this in aggregate to understand which projects and pages visitors are interested in. We do not use it to build individual profiles, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it.

Information you choose to give us

Our Contact page lists an email address and phone numbers. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to share, which typically includes your name, your contact details, and information about your project.

We use that information only to respond to you and, if we go on to work together, to carry out the project. We keep client correspondence for as long as needed for the working relationship and our business records.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect payment or financial information through this website.

  • We do not have user accounts, so we do not collect usernames or passwords.

  • We do not run a newsletter signup or mailing list through this site.

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses two kinds.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off through the site. Squarespace sets them, and they include _ssid (fraud prevention), Crumb (security, prevents cross-site request forgery), Test and _dd_cookie_test (check whether your browser supports cookies), and _dd_s (records browser errors).

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how the site is used. They include ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, ss_cvisit, ss_cvr, and ss_cvt. Session cookies expire after thirty minutes; the longer-lived ones expire after two years.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to view or use this site.

Who has access to your information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website and processes visitor data on our behalf under its own privacy commitments.

  • Our email provider, which transmits and stores messages you send us.

  • Vendors, contractors, and trade partners, but only where necessary to carry out a project you have engaged us for, and only with the information required for that purpose.

  • Legal authorities, where we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where necessary to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal to websites you visit. There is no common industry standard for how sites should interpret that signal. This site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Third-party tracking across other websites

We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit this site. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or third-party advertising networks on vancekillen.com.

Your privacy rights

We honor the following requests from any visitor, regardless of where you live:

  • The right to know what personal information we hold about you and how it was obtained.

  • The right to correct personal information that is inaccurate.

  • The right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to records we are required to keep.

  • The right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we state it plainly here.

  • The right to non-discrimination. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

How to review, change, or delete your information

Email us at vance@vancekillen.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," and tell us what you would like us to do. We will respond within forty-five days.

We may need to ask you a question or two to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We do this to make sure we are not disclosing or deleting someone else's information.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including a hosting platform that encrypts traffic to and from this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

This site may link to other websites, including press coverage, publications, and trade partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If we make a material change to how we handle personal information, we will post a notice on this page for at least thirty days before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
